This holiday weekend, Jason and I decided to take in San Diego’s Festival of Sail<\/a> over at the Maritime Museum here in San Diego.\u00a0 As we walked down Spanish Landing you could see the massive sails flapping in the wind across the bay.\u00a0 The sound of cannon fire echoed down the embarcadero and both the Jolly Roger and the American flag were hoisted up huge masts paying tribute to a rich maritime history here in America’s finest city.\u00a0 Minstrels spun pirate yarns, sang sea chanteys and danced jigs on the decks of what felt like another day in another time.\u00a0 Now I seriously doubt that Juan Rodriquez Cabrillo had funnel cake, as he celebrated his landing in Point Loma but the beauty and the joy of adventure sailing brings lives on.\u00a0 There’s a nice article about the festival along with video of the tall ships on Sign on San Diego, so click here<\/a> to take a peek at the article and a nice video featuring the arrival of the tall ships into San Diego harbor.<\/p>\n We had a great time at the festival and I’m thinking this might become a labor day tradition.\u00a0 The tall ships were beautiful, the history was rich, and I took bunches of beautiful photos of all of the sites and the sounds.\u00a0 If you would like to see photos of our excursion, be sure to visit the photo gallery here<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cTwenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn\u2019t do than by the ones you did do.
