{"id":727,"date":"2009-08-18T12:29:16","date_gmt":"2009-08-18T07:29:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/angelafardo.com\/?p=727"},"modified":"2010-08-30T02:24:14","modified_gmt":"2010-08-29T21:24:14","slug":"constantly-risking-absurdity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/angelafardo.com\/?p=727","title":{"rendered":"Constantly Risking Absurdity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>What a great title this is!!!\u00a0 What a definition of our lives.\u00a0 I say this because my week is absurd right now.\u00a0 It started last week when Jason came cruising into the apartment in the middle of the day.\u00a0 I was sure that either someone had died or he had been laid off.\u00a0 It&#8217;s been 5 years since he has darkened our door home sick from work.\u00a0 He doesn&#8217;t get sick.\u00a0 I get sick.\u00a0 I come close to anyone in the county and I get sick.\u00a0 I&#8217;m still sick.\u00a0 He is fine now but I am still sick&#8230;\u00a0 The good news is that I have new windows.\u00a0 Because the only thing that can make illness more interesting is having to turn your apartment upside down and let strangers parade through the room to stare at you in your pajamas. <!--more--> Laughing and commenting about you in Spanglish, as you ever so delicately blow half your brains out into a Kleenex.\u00a0 Not really but you think they are, because we are all so self absorbed that we think things are about us.\u00a0 Especially the things we can&#8217;t define, can&#8217;t understand or can&#8217;t interpret.\u00a0 I feel that way when my nails are being done and Cantonese fills the room.\u00a0 My wedding anniversary is tomorrow. I propose a Gatorade toast. I&#8217;ve been reading poetry this evening.\u00a0 Can you smell it on my breath?\u00a0 I&#8217;m sleep deprived and dry-eyed and my fever keeps creeping up on me in the night.\u00a0 A friend of a friend died.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t know him but it reminds me that I can still feel.\u00a0 I ran into a stranger on a virtual farm who had both lost and gained a grandchild in one week.\u00a0 One was born and another is missing.\u00a0 Her mother is mentally ill and they just can&#8217;t find her.\u00a0 I went missing once.\u00a0 Life is strange.\u00a0 The second we get a good hand, someone reshuffles the deck just to keep us on our toes.
