TMBG Still Have It
Then they wouldn’t understand a word we say,
So we’ll scratch it all down into the clay
Half believing there will sometime come a day
Someone gives a damn
Maybe when the concrete has crumbled to sand
We’re the Mesopotamians
Sargon, Hammurabi, Ashurbanipal, and Gilgamesh

So I had the pleasure of going to see one of my favorite bands of all time last night and as usual they didn’t disappoint. They Might Be Giants are in my opinion one of the most underrated alternative bands ever. I mean really, how many bands do you know that effectively utilize the accordion, the cowbell AND the glockenspiel. My husband, Jason, went to the show with me, kicking and screaming all the way. You see, he never seems to join in on the fun when it comes to concerts. To him they are an overpriced venture to go see some self-serving bunch of schmucks basque in their own glory. Even he came out of the show with the following to say “Wow, those guys are really fun. I think I could go see them over and over again. They obviously really enjoy playing music.” I know I’m partial but I still think it’s a brilliant observation and to me a source of the bands cult like following and longevity. Bottom line, if you ever get a chance to go see “the Johns” play, don’t hesitate. I promise that even if you couldn’t quote a single stanza of Particle Man, you’ll have a bang up time and come out the door with a smile on your face. TMBG never ceases to turn my frown upside down.
